Backstage — Before the walk

A show begins long before the first model steps onto the runway. At Ginny Litscher, makeup mirrors, hair clips and printed garments give the preparation room its own visual rhythm. I pay attention to the people as well as the finished look.

This edit moves from the preparations at Ginny Litscher to expressive portraits around Ones to Watch, then into the quieter moments before the shows in Paris. Close details and portraits make room for concentration, personality and a little playfulness.

My approach is to stay observant, work with the available space and find a clear photograph without interrupting the preparation. Alongside runway coverage, these images give a collection a fuller story: the craft, the concentration and the moments that an audience rarely sees.
